HELP END THE KILLING OF HEALTHY DOGS AND CATS

Who:

Spay n save is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. Members of spay n save have been involved in animal rescue for over 20 years and recognize the need to help guardians and caretakers obtain affordable, basic care for their animals.

Why:

Spay/neuter isn't the only solution for saving lives but it's a huge part of the puzzle.  Spay n save was established to address the great need for high-quality, low-cost, pet sterilization for those  who could not otherwise  afford it.  Having worked in rescue for many years, we see firsthand the necessity for such a service.

What:

By building a facility based on a nationally successful spay/neuter clinic model, spay n save will be able to reduce the number of homeless animals ending up in shelters.  These low-cost clinics have been instrumental in greatly reducing the killing of healthy animals as well as saving tax-payer money spent to destroy them.

Why don't some people spay and neuter their pets?

Research shows that the biggest factor deterring people from sterilizing their pets is cost. An affordable, high-quality clinic offering spay and neuter surgeries as well as basic immunizations will attract caregivers who might not normally obtain these services for their animals.

We often hear, "if people can't afford to take care of their pet, they shouldn't have one."  but we recognize two things.  First, many people come by a new pet because it was a stray at their door or they got it from someone else to keep it from being abandoned.  They didn't go out seeking a new pet but took it in out of kindness. And, second, most people want to do the best they can for their animal. Sometimes they just need more affordable help to do so.
