Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic Opened on July 30, 2012
Spay N Save Animal Clinic Hopes to Sterilize
5,000 Dogs and Cats the First Year
Spay N Save Animal Clinic, located at 988 N. Ronald Reagan Blvd., Longwood 32750, opened its doors and plans to sterilize 5,000 dogs and cats during its first year. Spaying and neutering pets is necessary to reduce the homeless pet overpopulation problem in Central Florida.
Funded in part by PetSmart Charities®, Spay N Save Animal Clinic will be the first in Seminole County devoted exclusively to providing low-cost, high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter. A high-volume clinic is one that provides 5,000 or more sterilizations annually for a community. The clinic is opening under the guidance of the Humane Alliance mentoring program.
Spay N Save Animal Clinic’s official opening will be on July 30, 2012, with a Grand Opening Ceremony to be announced for sometime in August. Anyone interested in getting their dog or cat sterilized can make an appointment by calling 407.920.4894. Proof of rabies vaccination is required by state law. If a dog or cat needs a rabies vaccination, one can be provided on the day of the surgery. The spay/neuter packages range from $40 to $120, depending on the size, gender and type of pet. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
“We can prevent thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and ultimately euthanized every year simply by spaying and neutering our pets,” Phyllis Ayoob, Founder and President. “It’s a safe and simple procedure performed by highly-skilled surgeons in a state-of-the-art facility.” Sterilizing pets also provides health benefits and reduces unwanted behaviors, like spraying and wandering.

About Spay N Save
Spay N Save is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides free and low-cost spay/neuter services for dogs and cats in Central Florida. Spay N Save relies solely on community support and grant funding to operate their clinic. Spay N Save branched off from a rescue and adoption program called CATS-CAN, Inc. (Caring About Today's Strays -- Cat Adoption Network). When CATS-CAN became overwhelmed with so many cats and kittens needing homes we decided to do more. We agreed that it was time to stop the never-ending tide of homeless pets and to begin a high volume spay and neuter service. Just this past year SNS has performed over 1200 sterilization surgeries.
